Revised Demographic Data Section of CMHS NOMs Tool Now Available on SPARS

The Center for Mental Health Services (CMHS) revised the Demographic Data section of the National Outcome Measures (NOMs) Services Tool to comply with recent executive orders. These changes include:

• Removal of sexual orientation question.
• Revised question “What is your sex?” to include only Male or Female response options. This question is optional.

Starting July 03, all CMHS grantees collecting NOMs client-level data should use the revised Demographic Data section in the tool for client-level data collection. The following CMHS NOMs resources are updated to include these changes and are now available to assist CMHS grantees with data collection and batch upload data entry:

• NOMs Tool - Spanish (paper version)
• Codebook
• CSV Batch Upload Template
• Question-by-Question Guide (English)
• Question-by-Question Guide (Spanish) – Coming soon
• NOMs Tool Walkthrough Training Slides – Coming soon

Additionally, the NOMs Tool has been renewed through November 30, 2027.
